Baby Registries

Hey everyone! I went and registered at Babies R Us this week. My friend Kristi and I took 3 hours going through the store! We also have a registry at Amazon.com for those items you can’t find in store at Babies R Us like Snoopy stuff and some awesome zip away crib sheets. Items we already have: Crib, Rocker, Dresser/changing table, and Crib set (baby snoopy of course). There are a lot of cool items out there these days like glow in the dark pacifiers. I didn’t register for a lot of clothes or toys. We go July 10th for an ultrasound and hopefully will know what we are having at that time so I’ll go and update the registry with some gender specific clothing. I also figure people will find clothing or toys they like at there favorite store (such as Target). I am hoping to breast feed but since you never know what will happen, I decided not to register for any of those items at this time. Gift Certificates, diapers, and wipes are always welcome as well :-) I’ll keep you posted on any other events. As of right now I am barely showing and can still get into some regular clothes and the maternity clothes are a little big. Hoping to go shopping this week to find some in between clothes, especially a pair of jeans, and some longer shirts (mine seem to have shrunk). Oh and you can view the Babies R Us registry online but if you go to the store they will print it out for you as well.

On another note if anyone is thinking of getting a birthday gift for Scott he is hoping for gift certificates to Guitar Center. ;-) Lately, I’m just in need of some time to clean out the babies room but I’m always good for some Snoopy ornaments from Hallmark.

Well that is all for now, I will give an update after our doctors visit on July 10th.

New Additions

We have had a couple of new purchases at the house.

One is an awesome Snoopy Crib set. Burlington had it on clearance and after researching the web and a few other stores, I decided I had to buy it now to get it at all and at a great price. I just love looking at it. There are a lot of accessories but they didn’t have them available at the store. Oh and of course I can use some of my own collection to accessorize the nursery.

Our other great addition is a new sink with new faucet and garbage disposal. Thanks to our friend Rob who came to Greenwood to put all this in! (I know none of you thought Scott put this in.)

After dealing with that other sink that was so annoying, ugly, and wouldn’t stay clean. This new one is just incredible. It is 8 1/2 inches deep and I can’t believe how far down it goes! I did go with stainless steel and I love it water spots and all. Our big colander and pans fit in it just fine. Scott discovered that the Brita pitcher also fits in the sink very easily to refill. Another great feature is that the drains are not in the middle but towards the faucet side of the sink. I’m glad to not have glasses sliding into the drain and falling over and making a big crash! It has some quiet feature to it as well and I did notice the pans don’t make as much noise when washing then as in the old sink. Of course, just having the sink not back up like it has been for two weeks is also great. We think this may have been because of the garbage disposal, which was absolutely disgusting when Rob took it out. We and Rob used a sink auger on the pipes and didn’t find a clog so it probably was the garbage disposal. I’ll get a picture up soon. Still catching up on dishes since the sink also backed up when we ran the dishwasher. I never got to the point of doing dishes in the tub but if Rob hadn’t come on Saturday, I probably would have had to. Once again, thanks for coming Rob and thanks to Linda for letting him come down. It was great hanging out with you guys too, or at least hanging out with Linda, while Rob did all the work.

I’ll get a picture of the new sink up soon.

Morning Sickness

At least they call it morning sickness but really it is any time of day nausea. Just wanted to let everyone know how things are going. I’m up and down with nausea and tiredness. So many foods just aren’t appealing. Sunday Scott had to take me to the store to get White bread and Peanut Butter (we had jelly at home). As we were leaving I grabbed Life cereal as well.

Enough about me, on the adoption front, we are able to move forward even though I am pregnant. Previously we had been told we would have to wait till a year after the baby is born. With the long (3 years or more) wait for China adoptions this policy was changed.

That is all I have for now. Check back later for more updates.

Fetus at 7 Weeks

This is not Fetus Wilder. But I just thought we would “contextualize” being pregnant at 7 weeks.
